Initiation is the process of binding Gear to a Knight or Blessed Villager. The process can be done for free the first time a character is initiated but thereafter will cost $FIEF and a small sum of $MAGIC, so choose wisely
- Attach any 6 rarities of Gear to your Character. But only iOP, Rare, Epic and Legendary grant points.
- All 10 layers need to be filled with Gear to Initiate your character, from Boots to Helmet and everything in between. Initiating your Blessed Villager allows them to be traded on Treasure Marketplace.
- The more rare the Gear you attach to your character is, the better benefits you get for both playing and earning in Blightfell.
- The rarity of Gear affects points received from upgrading depending on the Character they're attached to:
- Rare (blue) and iOP (red) Gear
Blessed Villager: 1 - 10 points per gear piece depending on upgrade level (Starting at Level 1 - Level 10)
Knight: 2 - 11 points per gear piece depending on upgrade level
Genesis Knight: 3 - 18 points per gear gear pieces depending on upgrade level - Epic (purple) Gear
Blessed Villager: 2 - 11 points per gear piece depending on upgrade level (1-10)
Knight: 3 - 13 points per gear piece depending on upgrade level
Genesis Knight: 4 - 14 points per gear gear pieces depending on upgrade level - Legendary (orange) Gear
Blessed Villager: 5 - 14 points per gear piece depending on upgrade level (1-10)
Knight: 6 - 15 points per gear piece depending on upgrade level
Genesis Knight: 7 - 16 points per gear gear pieces depending on upgrade level

Initiation Strategy Considerations
Or: How to Stop Worrying and Love Initiation
Initiation is meant to be the gateway towards a progression system in Blightfell. While you won't be locked in to the Gear you choose to bind to your character, any future re-initiations will mean burning the Gear you want to replace.
Common and Uncommon Gear can be used to initiate your Blessed Villagers and unlock trading, but consider using at least a few Rare Gear pieces if you can spare them. This will make your character much more valuable on the market if you're looking to trade/sell since Common and Uncommon Gear don't give you boost points to raise your Royal Tier.
Knights have a few special nuances when initiating.
1. The Gear they choose to remove and replace for the first Initiation will not be burned, it will appear as a standalone Gear piece in your Armory, and if Rare or higher, will be withdrawable to sell. But, this is only the case on the first initiation. During further initiations replaced Gear pieces will be burnt.
2. Crests and Sigils are not tradeable Gear pieces. When replacing Helmets and Shields on Knights that have Crests and Sigils, certain combinations will not be allowed so as to preserve the fidelity and avoid clashing on the in-game characters. A good rule of thumb is if the combination already exists in the Knight collection, then it will be allowed in Initiation.
